Yoga instructor Patrick Mason recommends these five easy stretches to help you feel energized each morning. Patrick states that stretching forces blood to flow throughout your body, since it causes muscles to expand and contract. Shown in pictures within the article, these stretches will not take up a huge space, and are fairly easy to accomplish.
Depending on the time you have in the morning, you can pick one or two, or do the stretches as shown. The recommended stretches are – Cat/cow, standing backbend, downward facing dog, crescent lunge, and wide-leg forward fold. Each stretch will either be held for 30 seconds (and repeated), focused on five breaths, or repeated eight to 10 times. These stretches are wonderful ways to wake your body up after a long night of beauty rest.
Key Points:
- Stretching exercises can be used to wake yourself up in the morning.
- Normal yoga poses from all over can help give you energy if needed.
- All of the normal positions can be used in the end here.
