When training for swimming, you should not care if you are experienced or entirely new for swimming, you should just get out and practice! Having a lifeguard or advanced instructor helps, but nothing is better than pure experience.
However one should stay out of the way of advanced swimmers as you only make it unsafe for yourself and them if you get plowed into by being in their half of the lane or kicking them in the face. You can avoid these problems by communicating before beginning your swim and by keeping your form correct (knees together, try to go in a straight line).
Don’t go it alone either, joining a team or group of swimmers can make for a learning experience that makes your training even easier to work with as you compete and work together with your teammates.
Key Points:
- You should get over the fear of water
- You should teach yourself and not to be embarrassed or afraid.
- Don’t try and do advanced swimming when you start
“Now quit making excuses and get in the pool.”
