Swimming is both a fun exercise which doesn’t require you to work up such a sweat. There are many exercises to be done in water:
Toning your arms by making a figure of 8 with a ball underwater. March on the spot the water resistance will keep your march slow.
Water Jumping Jacks. Stand sideways to a pool wall and stretch from side to side. Work your waist by stretching both legs to the left, right and center.
Stretch your whole body by gripping the pool edge and touch your whole body to the wall. Do standing gentle back kicks. Leg adduction and abduction by spreading and drawing legs.
Crunches after coming out of water. Floating flat on top of water after your exercise for some relaxation.
Warm up required before all of these exercises and being able to do them greatly depends on current level of fitness.

- Since your weight is partially supported and your movements slowed down, you are much less likely to injure yourself
- Water exercises can also be safer and more comfortable
