I know many women (and men) who have also gotten caught up in the same cycle. It usually starts with a trigger moment, for me it was when I accidentally stepped on a scale in my friend’s bathroom. Then comes the panic at the number and the efforts to sort out why I weighed so much. Afterwards, there is the plan for working out and the microscopic attention I pay to the things I eat in an effort to reverse the process. I check in with the people I love and ask them if they’ve “noticed a difference” and continue to work out more regardless of the answer.
